Our Help FAQ
Site Navigation: (return
to Top)
- Regional Tabs - At the top of any page you'll see the main CanadaIT navigation
bar continuing links to each major section of the site (News, Venture Capital etc.). Each
section is geographically context sensitive so if you click on any one of the Regional
tabs (e.g. Ontario) at any time during your visit you will filter your view to
include only those companies, or that information, indexed for that region.
- Search index - By clicking on Technology Sectors you will find our Technology and Business Type index.
This powerful index allows you to select from more than 250 technology or business
categories and then see all of the Companies, News or Career items indexed to that
technology.
Becoming a Member: (return

- Why should my firm become a member? - Membership will allow you to promote your
firm to our international and domestic audience of investors, job seekers, journalists,
researchers and IT and Internet firms seeking business partners. Membership will allow
your company to post a detailed profile, add a logo, publish press releases and include
event listings - all at no cost.
- How do I become a member? - If your firm has a Canadian base of operations and
is either an information technology/Internet company or a firm that services and supports
IT/Internet companies, then you may apply for membership. To apply, either follow the link
at the top or bottom of any page marked Register Your Company.
Member Administration: (return to Top)
- I have lost my password - Use the Feedback form and send us a
message.
- How do I get a password? My company is already profiled - Follow the link at
the top or bottom of any page marked Register Your Company. Complete the form and add a message in the
Comments box requesting "Link this to my company profile". Within a few hours we will
link this new password to the existing profile.
- How do I edit my company information at CanadaIT? - Click on Member
Sign In at the top of any page. Enter your Username and Password and press
Submit. If you have logged in successfully, the Member Sign In link will have changed to
Member Sign Out. Click on the Administration Menu link. On the CanadaIT
Administration menu page, select the item you wish to add or edit. After you finish and
press Submit, your information (i.e. company profile, press releases, event listings) will
be held for review offline, prior to publication by CanadaIT. Normally this does not
result in much of a delay. Employment postings and User/Member changes however are immediate and published without delay. When you have finished adding
information, click on Member Sign Out and you will be returned to your
original page.
- I edited my Company profile and now it has disappeared. Is it lost? - No,
unless you selected the Delete option, the profile will still be in our system. Whenever
you edit your information (i.e. company profile, press releases, event listings) these
items will be held for review offline, prior to publication by CanadaIT. Normally
this does not result in much of a delay. Employment postings and User/Member changes however are immediate and published without delay.
- Changing password - You may change your password at any time by editing your
User/Member profile.
- How do I add a logo to my profile? - You may upload a logo graphic from your
computer to the CanadaIT site from the edit Company profile form within your
Administration Menu. We reserve the right to restrict use of this feature. Images can be
no larger than than 200 x 50 pixels, files must be smaller than 20K and formats must be
either GIF or JPG. If you have uploaded a graphic and it is not appearing properly at your
Company Profile, this may indicate that there is a problem with the file format. If you
are having difficulty, you may prefer to email the logo file as an attachment (with some
instructions) to: admin@CanadaIT.com . We will
then try and add it in for you.
- What are QuickConnect Messaging Links and how do I add them? - QuickConnect Links are an excellent way to develop new business by defining links that allow visitors to
your CanadaIT Company Profile to quickly send an email message to key staff members. You specify the QuickConnect Contact Type and the email/Web address, and can edit these as often as you like. QuickConnect Messaging Links use our CanadaIT Messaging forms which hide your company email addresses from
our site visitors and the message sender. CanadaIT Messaging link forms also help to
qualify message senders by ensuring that the sender describe more about themselves, and
also allow the sender to have a copy of the message sent to their own account as a record.
When your staff receive a message they will know that the message came via CanadaIT.
